Updated: Mar 30, 2022

Lloyd Earl Browder was born on August 7, 1902 in South Carolina and 1940 had resettled in Pensacola, Florida. With him was his wife Kathleen Sherrill, who he married on July 7, 1925 in North Carolina and their children John, June, and Jerry. Lloyd supported his family as the proprietor of the Bayside Tourist Park (below) at 500 4th Street in East Pensacola Heights and the Bay Bridge Court at 914 East Gregory Street. Both advertised boating and swimming in the bay. At the Bayside Park, he employed a manager to run the place by the name of Robert Richard Tackaberry. Tackaberry was born in 1890 in Ireland and came to America in 1918. He and his wife Mary Agnes lived in one of the tourist cabins. He would later open a bookkeeping and tax consultant business with his office at 15 East Intendencia Street. In the meantime, the Browder family lived at 700 Bay Boulevard in East Pensacola Heights although at times they lived in the tourist cabins. Lloyd would pass away in 1980 and Katherine would follow him in death in 1990.
