Walker Ingraham was born on March 20, 1860 in Florida, the son of Henry Francis Ingraham and Isabella Cecelia Brosnaham. His father supported the family as a clerk with real estate valued at $6,000 and personal estate at $14,000. By 1880, Walker was working as a hired farm hand and by early 1900's he had entered the Laundry and Dairy business. He became the proprietor of the Star Laundry Company at 37 East Garden Street as well as the Ingraham Dairy. The family home in 1908 was located at 314 West Belmont Street, however by 1910 the family lived on Bayshore Drive while Walker managed a lumber mill. By 1920, he was the foreman of the steel department at the ship yard and living at 1504 North 12th Avenue. After a life of multiple vocations, Walker joined his wife Isabella in St. Michael's Cemetery on October 2, 1932.
